Amazon began early on Thursday, 06, their operations in Brazil by offering digital books and the debut of its Kindle e-reader.
Initially, Amazon will sell within the next few weeks, the most basic model of the Kindle reader in your online store for $ 299. For comparison, this same equipment can be found in American store for $ 69.
This version of Kindle is Amazon's lightest, weighing only 170 grams. With only 8.7 mm thick and 16cm in size, it also fits in a pocket. According to Amazon, this model has a battery lasting up to one month with wireless off function and considering a half-hour daily reading.
The Kindle features a 6-inch screen with e-ink technology, which has a high contrast, thereby providing cleaner images with no glare, even when used in sunlight. The e-reader also has some buttons with functions to turn or change pages and to navigate the digital book, allowing the marking sections of text, for example.
The handset also features Whispersync technology that synchronizes the last page read, bookmarks and user annotations on all your devices, allowing always can resume reading where you left off.

This model Kindle has Wi-Fi onboard and 2GB internal storage (capacity to store up to 1,400 e-books). But Amazon also offers free storage in the cloud for books purchased in their store (no specification limit of files in the cloud). The Worry Free File system automatically saves the books in the cloud, where they can be downloaded again.
The Kindle offers three font styles and eight different text sizes to customize your reading experience. The e-reader also comes with a native embedded dictionary, instant search of words, popular tags, integration with Facebook and Twitter, support for annotations and tags, among others.
The device supports various content formats like Kindle (AZW), TXT, PDF, unprotected MOBI and PRC course, HTML, DOC, DOCX, JPEG, GIF, PNG and BMP through conversion.
The Kindle store carries more than 1.4 million e-books, 13 thousand in Portuguese. Over 1500 digital books will also be available in Portuguese for Brazilians. The first chapters of the books can also be read before the user making the purchase.
