Techno Gadgets - Opera 14 comes to Android with Chromium 26 - A few months ago Opera surprised the whole community by announcing that Presto was leaving to go to use the browser rendering engine of Google, known as Chromium.
Moving into this new move, the company
launched Opera 14 for Android, an update that happens to use Chromium 26 at its core and offers a revamped user interface.
Opera 14 new user interface
The new user interface looking conform to the latest Android design guidelines and as highlighted from Opera this is compatible with all devices with Gingerbread, a version of Android that is still available in more than 30% of the devices.
However, despite the redesign Opera 14 still has some features like Speed Dial and browsing history to which we can access by swype to the left, and others like Discover swype doing right.
Opera 14 new features
The axtualizion of Opera 14 also brought some new features like the ability to move the navigation bar to the bottom of the screen and the automatic text alignment allows to adapt the size of the screen even when you're zooming, preventing appears annoying horizontal scroll.
Also we have implemented the ability to view full-screen tabs and Off-Road mode that allows us to save large amounts of GB in our connection to automatically reduce the quality of the images that pass first through the Opera Mini servers .
14 operates now powered by Chromium 26
As I said at the beginning of the article Opera 14 has jumped to Chromium 26, the core of Android-Chrome offers a superior rendering speed and improved support for HTML5 and other herbs as 3D WebGL.
Yes, at the moment there is no inclusion of Blink , the fork of WebKit developers have announced Chromium project a few weeks ago, but claim that this new Opera rendering engine will come in future releases.
